A message from Tsuyoshi Kawata to the fans of the Obic Seagulls
*******************************************************************
As a member of Stanford university's offensive coaching staff, I am involved in scouting, opponent analysis, report composition, film editing, amongst other things. This interview seems to be particularly interested in the relationship between the Obic Seagulls and my program which invites US coaches to Japan to teach. The piece also talks a bit about my significant contributions with regards to data analytics and breaking down the numbers.
One of the main reasons behind me being able to work at a place like Stanford was my experience with the Obic Seagulls. If it wasn't for our sponsor Obic, everyone in the organization, and most importantly the fans I wouldn't be in the position that I am in today doing the job that I love. I take pride in being a member of the Seagulls family. I will continue to challenge myself daily. I look forward to your continued support. Let's take back the championship this year! Go Obic Seagulls!

The Play Caller and the Gun Slinger

We recently conducted two interviews with a couple of our newer Seagulls.

Our second year offensive coordinator Daniel Lynds, and rookie quarterback Ikaika Woolsey talk a bit about themselves. What brought them to Japan, their experience with the Obic Seagulls, and adjusting to life in Japan are a few of the many topics that they discuss in the interview.

A bright future!

We would like to thank our regular supporters and followers.

We finished the 2016 season as the X-League runner up, just missing our ultimate goal of winning the championship. Although we came up short, there are many positives to take away from the season.

Our new head coach, his leadership, and team building method has put us on the right path. Head coach Kosho's new approach challenged us all to take a look at the real meaning of the phrase "hard work" which brought about a new awareness and understanding which led to the creation of a new foundation and team culture. The emergence of young players, and leaders fostered an environment of intense competition that improved our team greatly.

As we go forward in 2017, we want to continue to make the right changes and stay true to the  philosophy behind the real meaning of the phrase "hard work."

The Obic Seagulls would like to continue to form new relationships with foreign players. Foreign players that have experience playing at top tier programs in the US or players completing their higher education at Japanese institutions are both welcome, and we look forward to hearing from you. If you are interested in being a part of the Obic Seagulls please contact us. We will do our best to get back to you right away with information regarding recruiting policy, roster situation, etc.

All personnel changes for the upcoming 2017 season have been finalized. Please keep in mind that we will have an opportunity to address position openings in 2018 at the earliest.

Thank you,
The Obic Seagulls
